Basic materials to alter MTG cards

These are the basic materials you need to begin painting MTG altered card.

  • Acrylic paint: I recommend acrylics to paint miniatures as warhammer (Vallejo model color, Citadel, etc)
  • An artistic palette. Pictured use "wet palette" that will explain in another article.
  • A glass of water.
  • A suitable surface such as a sketchbook.
  • Brushes: Purchase always high quality brushes, brushes poor quality lasts a short time and do not give the required accuracy (my favorites are the Davinci Master series). It is good to have an old brush to paint mixtures.
  • Pencils and markers to make the drawing at the beginning of work.
  • Alcohol 96º to correct errors.
  • Masking tape to areas not want to paint. I recommend that used for electricity, without much amount of adhesive and will not damage the card.
  • Absorbent paper.
